Doctors in Gurugram staged a strike on Saturday to protest the rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata's Medical College and Hospital.

The Indian Medical Association-Gurugram led the strike, halting OPD and operation theatre services. Members, including Lions' Club, gathered at John Hall before marching to demand justice for the victim.

The IMA called on medical college management and faculty to ensure safety and well-being during this period.

During the action, OPD, alternative OT, and other non-emergency services were closed district-wide.

The trainee doctor was found dead on August 9 at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital, her body discovered in a bloodied state.
