This mobile unit initiative has served over 1600 beneficiaries, significantly improving their independence and quality of life.
Rehab on Wheels (RoW), a joint venture between the Association of People with Disability (APD) and ABB India, has successfully completed its first year of offering essential rehabilitation services to Bengaluru's underserved communities. The initiative, launched in 2023, has benefited over 1600 individuals, providing them with much-needed mobility aids and assistive devices right at their doorsteps.
This pioneering project, fully funded by ABB India as part of its corporate social responsibility, has reached 23 service points across both urban and rural areas of Bengaluru. The mobile unit has been instrumental in delivering specialized therapy services and distributing disability aids, thereby enhancing the functional abilities and overall well-being of its beneficiaries.
RoW has also engaged local stakeholders such as community leaders and healthcare workers to mobilize beneficiaries and spread awareness. With a 67% satisfaction rate among beneficiaries, the project plans to expand its reach by increasing service points and collaborating with more local health centers and NGOs in the coming months.
