The Bengaluru Traffic Police has reported notable achievements in reducing traffic-related incidents in 2024, citing a 1.26% reduction in fatal accidents and a 1.90% decrease in deaths caused by mishaps, compared to the previous year.
Efforts to address black spots, particularly those affecting pedestrians, have resulted in a remarkable 23.17% reduction in pedestrian deaths. However, self-accident cases have increased by 3.34%, posing a challenge for ongoing safety measures.
A significant number of violations were documented with 82.86 million cases registered. The police also focused on reducing wheeling incidents, with 532 cases leading to multiple arrests, and enhanced infrastructure via the creation of 54 green corridors for medical emergencies.
