Delhi Minister Manjinder Singh Sirsa has leveled serious accusations of corruption against former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, in light of a recent report by the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) regarding the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC). Sirsa criticized the financial mismanagement detailed in the report, which includes the closure of bus routes, escalating costs, and increased government grants. He called for a comprehensive investigation, stating, "Kejriwal came saying he will remove corruption, now we open any book and there's only corruption."
Sirsa further attacked the AAP government for failing to meet the Delhi High Court's mandate of maintaining a fleet of 11,000 buses, with only two electric buses added under their administration. He criticized the closure of bus routes, a decline in revenue, and the unexplained increase in government grants to the DTC. "The operating cost per kilometer has soared from Rs 213 to Rs 487 under Kejriwal's government," he noted.
Meanwhile, Leader of the Opposition in the Delhi Assembly, Atishi, requested more time for a detailed review of the CAG report, but Speaker Vijender Gupta declined to delay the scheduled discussion. Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta earlier tabled the report, which scrutinizes the DTC's operations and financial management, urging improvements in fleet management, revenue, and policy adherence.
