Major Drug Bust: Assam Rifles and Police Seize Heroin and Meth Worth Crores

In a significant breakthrough, Assam Rifles, in collaboration with the Police Department in Zokhawthar, successfully seized 113 grammes of heroin valued at Rs 84.75 lakh near the Melbuk Road Junction. Three individuals have been apprehended in connection with the narcotics operation, according to an official statement released on Tuesday.
The operation, based on specific intelligence inputs, resulted in the establishment of a Mobile Vehicle Check Post (MVCP), thereby enabling the interception of the suspects linked to the drug trafficking network.
In a separate incident reported on Monday, Assam Rifles, along with local enforcement agencies, confiscated over 2 kilograms of Methamphetamine valued at Rs 7.19 crores during a series of anti-smuggling operations. A joint team successfully intercepted a suspected vehicle, leading to the recovery of narcotics after the suspects attempted to escape, abandoning a blue bag at the scene.
