In a major crackdown by Customs officers at Indira Gandhi International Airport in New Delhi, a case involving the smuggling of a significant quantity of heroin has been filed against an Indian passenger. The individual, who arrived from Bangkok via Kuala Lumpur, was intercepted at Terminal-3 on Saturday, November 9.
Authorities seized 7.321 kg of what is suspected to be white heroin, estimated to be worth Rs 29.28 crore, from the passenger's possession. The taboo cargo was discovered in seven green polythene packets hidden in his trolley bag, stated officials.
The passenger had violated several provisions under the NDPS Act, 1985. Consequently, he was arrested under section 43(b) of the legislation on Sunday at 8 pm. The investigation is ongoing, with further information anticipated, according to officials.
