Trinamool Congress leader Kunal Ghosh commented on the ongoing trial, noting that it has been three months since the appalling incident. He affirmed that the accused was swiftly apprehended by Kolkata Police, with the judiciary overseeing the process. Ghosh dismissed claims of political interference, underscoring that justice is progressing smoothly with Supreme Court oversight.
The tragic event occurred on August 9, sparking widespread protests. Meanwhile, the Supreme Court rejected a plea to transfer the trial, arguing the process in West Bengal remains fair. The Court emphasized the Central Bureau of Investigation's ongoing probe and CBI's progress reports, suggesting further evidence might emerge.
