Lakhvinder Kaur, the widow of Badal Singh, delivered an emotional account of her husband's death during the 1984 anti-Sikh riots at Gurudwara Pul Bangash, before the Rouse Avenue court on Thursday. Kaur broke down as she recounted the events, with Special CBI Link Judge Vishal Gogne overseeing the proceedings.

Kaur asserted that her husband was killed by a mob at the Gurudwara, allegedly incited by Congress Leader Jagdish Tytler, who reportedly urged attackers to destroy the Sikh worship site. The traumatic incident occurred on November 1, 1984, when tensions were high following the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.

During her deposition, Kaur described being informed of her husband's fate by granthi Surender Singh. Singh had reportedly witnessed the murder, further naming Tytler as an instigator. Citing hearsay evidence, defense counsel contested the witness's statement, while the public prosecutor argued the admissibility would be judged later. Kaur's cross-examination is scheduled for October 15.
