The Mizoram government has confirmed a 4% increase in dearness allowance for its employees, effective from November, in a decision made during a cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Lalduhoma, as announced by an official.
Described as a Christmas gift, this adjustment raises the DA to 40% of the employees' basic pay. Furthermore, the cabinet has endorsed the establishment of a state human rights commission and the creation of 16 positions for the panel.
This move aligns with a recent order from the Gauhati High Court, which instructed the Mizoram government to set up the commission within two months, as decided by a division bench comprising Chief Justice Vijay Bishnoi and Justice Michael Zothankhuma.
