BSES on Thursday unveiled a new service, 'Tatkal', designed to provide same-day temporary electricity connections for festive events such as Durga Puja, Diwali Melas, Ramlilas, and weddings. Festival organizers can apply through the BSES Website, Mobile App, WhatsApp, or visit Customer Care/Digi Seva Centers to receive a connection within 24 hours.

The initiative, according to the official release from BSES, aims to enhance the festive atmosphere while contributing to efforts to reduce air pollution. By offering 'Tatkal' connections as a sustainable alternative to diesel generators, BSES hopes to significantly cut down on noise and air pollution. These connections are described as hassle-free, cost-effective, and safe.

'Festivals are a time of joy and unity, and we believe nothing should dampen that spirit. Our 'Tatkal' service ensures that celebrations are brighter and the environment less polluted,' a BSES official said. 'By leveraging our advanced IT systems and streamlined processes, we are making same-day connections a reality, directly contributing to Delhi's fight against pollution.' Consumers can apply for the connection via the BSES website, WhatsApp by contacting BRPL (8800919123) and BYPL (8745999808), or by visiting BSES Customer Care Centers or Digi Seva Kendras.

Payments can be made online, ensuring a hassle-free and contactless experience. This initiative has drastically reduced the waiting period from up to seven days to just a few hours. Understanding the paramount importance of a reliable power supply during festivities, BSES has placed its operations and maintenance teams on high alert. Proactive measures are in place to ensure all events go smoothly without any electrical disruptions, providing additional assurance for organizers and attendees.

'By reducing dependence on diesel generators, the 'Tatkal' service significantly cuts harmful emissions. This initiative highlights BSES's commitment to environmental stewardship and aligns with the broader goals of the GRAP to improve air quality during a critical period,' stated the press release from BSES.
