Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal announced plans to visit the Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place today at noon to offer thanks and seek divine blessings. Kejriwal shared this in a post on social media platform X, saying, "Today at noon, I will go to Hanuman Temple at Connaught Place to thank God and seek his blessings."
The visit comes a day after the Supreme Court granted him bail in the Delhi excise policy case, although with specific restrictions including barring him from entering the CM office and signing files.
According to Kejriwal's lawyer Rishikesh Kumar, the SC's bail conditions include furnishing a surety bond of Rs 10 lakh and mandatory trial attendance unless an exemption is granted. Additional conditions mirror those set during his earlier bail in the ED matter, limiting his ability to sign documents and fulfill his role as CM.
Kumar stated that Kejriwal could apply to modify the conditions, especially those mirroring the ED case. Key stipulations include submitting a Rs 10 lakh surety bond, avoiding comments on the Delhi excise policy case, and restricted CM office access, necessitating critical paperwork approval by the Lieutenant Governor. Kejriwal must attend all trial dates unless officially exempted.
Kejriwal was initially arrested by the ED on March 21, 2024, linked to a money laundering investigation regarding the now-cancelled Delhi excise policy of 2021-22. He was further detained by CBI on June 26, 2024, while in ED custody.
