The Rouse Avenue court on Wednesday granted bail to AAP MLA Durgesh Pathak and others involved in the Delhi Excise Policy Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) case. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal appeared via video conferencing from Tihar jail, where his judicial custody was extended until September 25.
Special Judge Kaveri Baweja granted bail to Pathak on furnishing a bail bond of Rs one lakh, while other accused also provided their bail bonds. The court had earlier summoned Pathak and the other charge-sheeted accused. Vinod Chauhan, also in custody for a money laundering case, was produced physically.
CBI supplied copies of the fourth supplementary charge sheet post-hearing, promising to deliver the list of un-relied documents later. The supplementary charge sheet implicated Kejriwal, Pathak, Amit Arora, Sharath Chandra Reddy, Ashish Mathur, and Vinod Chauhan. Prosecution alleges funds from the South Group were directed towards the AAP Goa election campaign.
