The Joint Platform of Doctors in West Bengal has called for an unconditional apology from Trinamool Congress (TMC) MP Abhishek Banerjee. The demand follows Banerjee's claims that a young boy died from a lack of medical attention at RG Kar hospital, a statement the doctors label as false and dangerous.

Amit Malviya, BJP national spokesperson, criticized the TMC government, asserting that TMC MPs involved in spreading the misinformation must also apologize and delete their posts. Malviya accused the TMC of trying to discredit the ongoing doctors' protest demanding justice for an assaulted and murdered trainee doctor.

The Joint Platform of Doctors' letter highlights that the boy, contrary to Banerjee's claims, received prompt medical attention and continuous care before his unfortunate demise. The misleading post, they argue, risks inciting violence against medical professionals already under pressure. They insist Banerjee retract his statement and issue a public apology.
