Ukrainian drones launched an overnight assault on a munitions depot in the Russian region of Voronezh, according to a Ukrainian security source speaking to Reuters. The depot was reportedly being used to transfer munitions and equipment to Ukraine. The operation was conducted by the SBU, Ukraine's internal security service.
Significant damage was inflicted, leading to ongoing detonations and four powerful fires at the site. The facility is located in the village of Soldatskoe, nearly 80 miles from the nearest Ukraine-controlled territory, the source disclosed.
Ukraine has been restricted by some Western allies from using their missiles on Russian soil. Consequently, it has developed a stock of domestically produced long-range drones capable of reaching targets up to 1,000 kilometers away.
