Monpa Community Honors Dalai Lama with Long-Life Prayers in Dharamshala

Over two thousand people from the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh, predominantly from the Monpa community, gathered at Tsuglagkhang, Dharamshala to offer long-life prayers for the Dalai Lama. The event welcomed the Tibetan community in exile and leaders from Arunachal Pradesh, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu.

Over two thousand individuals from the Tawang region of Arunachal Pradesh, primarily from the Monpa community, assembled at the main Tibetan temple, Tsuglagkhang, Dharamshala on Saturday. Their gathering aimed to offer long-life prayers for Tibetan spiritual leader, the 14th Dalai Lama. The significant event saw the attendance of the Dalai Lama himself, the Tibetan community in exile, and multiple leaders from Arunachal Pradesh, including Chief Minister Pema Khandu, MP Tapir Gao, Minister for Education and Tourism Pasang Dorjee, and MLA Namsai, Zingnu Namchoom.

Tsering Dicky, a devoted follower from Tawang, expressed, "We have come here to offer long-life prayers for his holiness the Dalai Lama. Our Chief Minister and other leaders are also here, acknowledging the importance of this occasion for all of us." The Tibetan government-in-exile facilitated a felicitation event to welcome the leaders of Arunachal Pradesh.

Following the prayer ceremony, the Central Tibetan Administration (CTA) organized an event to extend their welcome to the visiting leaders. The dignitaries from Arunachal Pradesh included CM Pema Khandu, MP Tapir Gao, and Pasang Dorjee Sona, Minister for Education and Tourism, along with MLA Zingnu Namchoom. CTA President Pempa Tsering expressed his heartfelt gratitude towards the leaders and people of Arunachal Pradesh for organizing the long-life prayer. Addressing the gathering, CM Pema Khandu recounted his audience with the Dalai Lama. He commended the Central Tibetan Administration for their tireless efforts toward the Tibetan cause and emphasized the enduring bond between the people of Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh.

Sikyong CTA president Pempa Tsering expressed his gratitude toward all the leaders and people of Arunachal Pradesh as they organized this long-life prayer. Addressing the gathering, CM Pema Khandu shared his experience of an audience with the Dalai Lama. He praised the Central Tibetan Administration for their dedicated efforts toward the Tibetan cause and highlighted the special bond between the people of Tibet and Arunachal Pradesh.
