Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi was present at the ongoing BJP's mega membership drive at a booth in Barang under the Banki Assembly Constituency in Cuttack on Saturday. The event is part of the BJP's 2024 membership drive which was launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on September 2 by renewing his membership.

During the launch event, PM Modi received a certificate for the renewal of his membership from BJP president JP Nadda at the 'Sanghatan Parva, Sadasyata Abhiyan 2024'. CM Majhi spoke to ANI, stating, 'BJP's membership drive is ongoing. I participated in the drive at a booth and administered membership to new members. I also had lunch with a tribal family. Last time, we inducted 41 lakh people in the state, enabling our success in the last elections.'

CM Majhi highlighted that the current membership drive would aim to connect with one crore people in Odisha through door-to-door visits. He also mentioned the Subhadra Yojana, a flagship scheme designed to benefit and empower over one crore eligible beneficiaries in the state.

Earlier in the day, CM Majhi and state minister Sampad Chandra Swain had lunch at the residence of a tribal family in Barang, Cuttack. The BJP marked a milestone by registering one crore members in just three days under the 2024 membership drive.

The BJP shared a video on X, captioned 'one crore and counting, 'ye toh bs shuruaat h''. The video content celebrated reaching an incredible milestone and indicated it was only the beginning.

The membership drive will be conducted in two phases: September 2 to September 25 and October 1 to October 15. Each phase aims to achieve specific milestones, ensuring extensive reach across the country. (ANI)
