Governor C.P. Radhakrishnan led Ganesh Chaturthi celebrations at his residence 'Jal Bhushan' in Raj Bhavan on Saturday, participating in the Ganesh puja and aarti alongside his family, officers, and staff. Attendees included Principal Secretary Pravin Darade, Joint Secretary Shweta Singhal, and Comptroller Jitendra Wagh. The aarti was a significant part of the event.

On the eve of the festival, President Droupadi Murmu extended her greetings to Indians around the globe. She emphasized the festival's role in fostering harmony and encouraged citizens to contribute towards a peaceful and prosperous India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also conveyed his wishes, saying, 'Heartiest greetings of Ganesh Chaturthi to all countrymen. Ganpati Bappa Morya.'

Union Home Minister Amit Shah and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar echoed these sentiments, celebrating the festival's significance. Shah wished happiness and prosperity for all, while Dhankhar highlighted Lord Ganesha's embodiment of wisdom and good fortune.

Marking the beginning of the ten-day festival, devotees across Maharashtra have actively prepared by bringing idols home and visiting pandals. In Nagpur, the Shri Ganesh Mandir Tekdi commenced the festivities with traditional prayers and aarti. The 250-year-old temple is noted for its self-existent deity, whose shrine reportedly grows over time.
