The Territorial Army unit of the Indian Army conducted a daring rescue operation, saving two laborers trapped in a choked stream during a clearance operation in Khongsang. The incident occurred on Friday, and efforts to locate a third missing worker are still underway, according to an official statement.

The laborers were clearing mud and debris beneath minor bridge 60 between Thingou and Khongsang Railway Stations when a sudden surge in the flow of debris washed away their earthmoving equipment, trapping them in the stream. The Territorial Army quickly launched a rescue mission and successfully freed two of the trapped workers.

According to the Territorial Army's statement, three laborers were working to clear the accumulated debris which had choked the stream under minor bridge 60. The surge of water caused by the sudden release of debris swept away their equipment and trapped them. Upon receiving the alert, a search and rescue team was swiftly deployed from the Company Operating Base in Thingou, Manipur. Led by an officer, the team managed to rescue two of the workers. The operation to find the third laborer is ongoing, with additional troops arriving at the site.
