In response to the increasing popularity of gaming activities as recreational venues, Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel has announced new planning regulations for gaming zones within the Comprehensive General Development Control Regulations (CGDCR). The statement from the Chief Minister's Office highlighted the need for these rules to manage large crowds and ensure public safety.

The CGDCR provisions detail regulations for constructing gaming activity areas, including specifications for road widths, building heights, parking spaces, and safety measures. The guidelines also mandate various types of No Objection Certificates (NOCs) and emphasize public safety through features like separate entry and exit points.

According to the official statement, gaming sites must prominently display Building Use certificates, fire NOCs, and other required permits. Any construction or use of property must conform to the updated guidelines, even if prior permissions were granted. The new regulations include penalties for non-compliance and were spurred by incidents like the Rajkot TRP Game Zone tragedy.

Additionally, on September 4, CM Patel directed District Collectors to expedite recovery efforts in areas affected by heavy rains, offering cash assistance and household aid. The government aims to support families whose lives have been disrupted by the severe weather.
