Hyderabad Excise Seizes Whiskey-Laced Ice Cream and Illicit Liquor in Sweeping Raids
Hyderabad Excise Department has exposed a racket involving whiskey-laced ice cream, seizing 11.5kg of the concoction and arresting multiple individuals. Additionally, non-duty-paid liquor worth Rs 3.85 lakhs was also confiscated in a separate incident. Investigations are ongoing.

In a startling crackdown, the Hyderabad Excise Department has seized an ice cream parlour for selling whiskey-laced ice cream and arrested several individuals involved, police confirmed on Friday. The racket came to light following a raid at Ariko Cafe Ice Cream Parlour in Jubilee Hills.
During the operation, authorities confiscated 23 pieces, totaling 11.5 kg of whiskey-infused ice cream, and registered a case against the culprits. The parlour, run by Sharath Chandra Reddy, was mixing 60 ml of whiskey into each kilogram of ice cream and marking it up at high prices.
Other accused include Dayakar Reddy and Shobhan, who used Facebook advertisements to attract customers. Meanwhile, the Excise Department also confiscated non-duty-paid liquor worth Rs 3.85 lakhs. Accused Gopal Agrawal is alleged to have purchased the liquor in Chandigarh and attempted to sell it in Hyderabad at inflated rates.
