West Bengal Motion Picture Artists' Forum staged a protest in Tollygunge, demanding justice for the victim in the RG Kar Medical College rape-murder case. The forum urged the Kolkata administration to assume responsibility for the incident. Actor Parambrata Chatterjee emphasized the need for strict punishment for all those involved and called for a systematic change in societal attitudes that foster such crimes. He reinforced that the protest was not politically motivated but aimed at ensuring justice.

On Saturday, a delegation of resident doctors met with Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) officials concerning the alleged sexual assault and murder of a trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. Representative Dr. Kinjal stated that they requested a timeline for the investigation but were informed that setting one was not feasible.

"Our delegation did not receive satisfactory answers from the CBI," Kinjal said. "We are protesting for justice. We told the investigators that identifying those involved is crucial for the direction of our protest. The CBI asked for our trust, though they could not provide a timeline. A polygraph test will soon be conducted on the main accused Sandeep Ghosh, Sanjay Roy, four doctors, and one volunteer."

The Court has given the CBI three weeks to submit a progress report on the investigation, with a deadline of September 17. The trainee doctor's body was discovered on August 9 in the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata.
