On Saturday, the BJP conducted press conferences across the nation to criticize the 'unholy alliance' between the Congress and the National Conference, accusing them of making 'anti-national' promises. The party demanded answers from Congress and its leader Rahul Gandhi to 10 pointed questions raised by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on Friday.
Shah questioned whether the Congress aims to plunge Jammu and Kashmir back into instability by restoring Article 370 and Article 35A. He further inquired if the party plans to endorse separatism by engaging with Pakistan at the National Conference's behest, and whether it supports reviving cross-border trade and terrorism-related activities, such as granting government jobs to families of those involved in terrorism and stone-pelting incidents.
The BJP also queried if Congress favors abolishing reservations for Dalits, Gujjars, Bakerwals, and Paharis, and renaming historic sites in the region. Other questions addressed the divisive politics between Jammu and the Valley and the issue of autonomy, including the restoration of a separate flag for Jammu and Kashmir. In BJP-ruled states, Chief Ministers and Deputy Chief Ministers led the media outreach, while senior party leaders took charge of criticizing Congress and Rahul Gandhi in other states.
