In a significant recovery, three pistols suspected to have been dropped by a drone were found in the Ramgarh Sector of Jammu and Kashmir's Samba district, police confirmed on Monday. The joint operation was conducted by the Border Security Force (BSF), Police Component Jammu, and Samba Police.
According to officials, the search operation was initiated after a tip-off regarding suspected drone activity in the Mallu Chack area. "On hearing the humming sound of a drone from the Pakistan side, security personnel fired rounds towards the sound, pushing the drone back," said an official. A case has been lodged under Sections 113(3)/149 BNS and 7/25 Arms Act at Ramgarh police station, with further investigation currently underway.
Earlier on September 1, the BSF recovered a small drone along with a packet of suspected narcotics in Tarn Taran district. The narcotics were wrapped in yellow adhesive tape, and a plastic ring with an illuminating stick was attached to the packet. The drone was identified as a China-made DJI MAVIC 3 Classic.
