A 34-year-old man who had been missing for over a decade was joyfully reunited with his family in Yavatmal, Maharashtra last week, according to official sources.

The man, identified as a tribal, had been employed as a caterer in Bengaluru. However, he lost his mental balance and began wandering aimlessly before being rescued by a social worker in Latur. He was subsequently admitted to Divya Seva Residential Rehabilitation Centre in Varvand, Buldhana, where he had been undergoing treatment for the past 10 years.

'A missing person complaint was lodged at a Bengaluru police station at the time he disappeared. Social worker Sandeep Shinde found him, and he was receiving treatment at our center under the name Pushkar,' said the center's Ashok Kakade. 'His breakthrough came when he started writing in Kannada, helping us identify him as Arjun. Verification through an elderly woman and his Aadhaar card led us to his family in Yavatmal.'

A welcome ceremony was held in his native village on August 16 to celebrate his return after a decade-long absence, Kakade added.
