Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde on Friday reiterated his government's commitment to women's safety and empowerment through the 'Majhi Ladki Bahin' scheme. Speaking at a women's empowerment convention, Shinde affirmed that his administration keeps its promises, highlighting how 1.40 crore women have already received financial assistance.
The event saw Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis and other dignitaries in attendance. Shinde also addressed criticism from opposition parties, suggesting their disdain stemmed from the scheme's success. He promised additional financial aid for women who complete their applications by the August 31 deadline.
Diversifying the conversation, Shinde and Fadnavis discussed other social initiatives, including a farmers' electricity bill waiver and youth training schemes. Certificates for various schemes were distributed, further showcasing the government's efforts in social upliftment.
