The Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya successfully thwarted an infiltration attempt along the International Border in the West Jaintia Hills district on August 19. Three Bangladeshi nationals—two males and one female—attempted to cross the border with the assistance of three Indian facilitators.

The apprehended Bangladeshi nationals and their Indian collaborators have been handed over to the local police station for further legal action. An investigation into the incident is currently ongoing, officials reported.

In response to the ongoing unrest and deteriorating law and order situation in Bangladesh, the BSF Meghalaya has intensified surveillance and stepped up border domination measures along the Indo-Bangladesh border to prevent illegal crossings and ensure national security.
