The National Task Force is poised to provide interim guidelines to safeguard medical professionals' safety within three weeks following a Supreme Court directive issued on Tuesday. Dr. Saumitra Rawat, NTF member and Chairman of the Institute of Surgical Gastroenterology at SGRH, disclosed this exclusively to ANI.

Elaborating on the committee's primary objectives, Dr. Rawat stated, "We aim to focus on two distinct areas as mandated by the Chief Justice of India—the first is preventing violence against medical professionals, and the second is drafting a national protocol to ensure dignified and safe working conditions for doctors, nurses, and paramedical staff."

The Supreme Court earlier mandated the formation of the National Task Force to address rising incidents of violence against medical staff and the need for better working conditions nationwide. "The National Task Force will provide recommendations for guidelines to protect both senior and junior doctors in the country," stated Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.

The task force will comprise various experts, including Surgeon Vice Admiral RK Sarian, Dr. Reddy from the Asian Institute of National Gastroenterology, Dr. M Srinivas from AIIMS Delhi, Dr. Prathima Moorthy from NIMHANS Bangalore, Dr. Puri from AIIMS Jodhpur, Dr. Rawat from Gangaram Hospital Delhi, Prof. Anita Saxena from Pandit BD Sharma College, and Dr. Pallavi Padma Srivastava from Paras Hospital.
