Prime Minister Narendra Modi received a ceremonial welcome at Singapore's Parliament House on Thursday. Singapore Prime Minister Lawrence Wong welcomed him warmly. PM Modi signed the visitors book at the Parliament House.

In addition to their greetings, PM Modi and Lawrence Wong met ministers and delegates from both countries. PM Modi, who arrived in Singapore on Wednesday, has numerous engagements scheduled in the city-state on Thursday, aimed at further strengthening India-Singapore bilateral ties.

Throughout the day, PM Modi will hold a meeting with Lawrence Wong, with expectations of signing Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) between the two nations. PM Modi will also visit AEM Holdings Ltd's semiconductor facility with Singapore's Prime Minister, following a lunch hosted by Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong. Later, he is set to meet with President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong, along with attending a business meeting with CEOs before returning to New Delhi.

PM Modi's visit began on Wednesday with a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart, where he expressed his happiness. In a post on X, he stated, "Happy to have met my friend, PM Lawrence Wong. Had an excellent discussion on a wide range of issues. India cherishes the friendship with Singapore." PM Wong also shared a picture of their meeting and welcomed PM Modi for dinner at Istana, the official residence and office of the president of Singapore.

On the significance of PM Modi's Singapore visit, MEA official spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal remarked that the visit will further fortify the bonds of friendship between the two nations. Singaporean Minister for Home Affairs and Law K Shanmugham welcomed PM Modi at Changi airport on Wednesday, along with a warm reception from the Indian community, where PM Modi was seen giving autographs and playing the dhol.

PM Modi, sharing pictures on X, expressed his gratitude for the vibrant welcome in Singapore. Before arriving in Singapore, PM Modi was on an official visit to Brunei, where he held extensive talks with Sultan Haji Hassanal Bolkiah and inaugurated the new Chancery of the High Commission of India in Bandar Seri Begawan.
