In a tragic turn of events, Inspector Kuldeep Singh of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) succumbed to injuries sustained during an encounter with terrorists in Udhampur, Jammu and Kashmir. The incident occurred on Monday, highlighting the ongoing security challenges in the region.
Security forces, including a joint patrol party of the CRPF and Jammu and Kashmir Police, were subjected to intense gunfire in the Cheel, Dudu area of Udhampur District. Inspector Singh's valiant effort was honored by the CRPF, who posted on social media acknowledging his sacrifice and bravery.
The incident comes at a critical time as Jammu and Kashmir is set to hold assembly elections for the first time in a decade. Polling is scheduled to take place in three phases on September 18, 25, and October 1. Meanwhile, security operations continue in the region, with additional forces deployed to ensure safety and stability.
