Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami participated on Monday in the Bagwal fair held at Maa Varahi Dham in Devidhura, Champawat district, on the occasion of Raksha Bandhan. Dhami offered a bell at the Maa Varahi temple and wished for the state's prosperity and progress. He observed the world-famous stone war, a traditional event played with fruits and flowers, lasting about 11 minutes this year.

Dhami announced several infrastructure projects, including the flood protection in Ratia River in Reetha, an alternative approach road, and additional work under the Manaskhand corridor. He greeted all the Gods and Goddesses and extended Raksha Bandhan wishes. "I felt overwhelmed visiting the historical and picturesque area of Devidhura. The Bagwal Mela showcases our folk culture, faith, and traditions," Dhami said.

He emphasized the duty to pass on folk culture to future generations and highlighted the state government's efforts in preserving the cultural heritage under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's leadership. The Manaskhand Mandir Mala Mission aims to beautify mythological temples in the Kumaon region. Dhami also mentioned connecting temples in Manaskhand with ropeways and running special trains under the Manaskhand Yatra.

Dhami further spoke about the government's initiatives in agriculture, milk production, education, and horticulture. Champawat Mahavidyalaya is being developed as a campus of Soban Singh Jeena University. An ARTO sub-office has been opened at Champawat headquarters. He reiterated the government's commitment to making Champawat an ideal district and Uttarakhand the best state. Dhami launched the "Jai Maa Varahi" video and planted a sapling on the GIC campus near the helipad.
