The National Green Tribunal has imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 on the Uttarakhand Pollution Control Board for failing to submit a report on illegal mining activities in Laksar town, Haridwar district.
The Tribunal had previously instructed the board to take action against the violators and provide an action taken report by May 9. However, the UKPCB did not comply, leading to the penalty.
