Union Minister of Heavy Industries, HD Kumaraswamy, on Monday, made an important visit to the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) Kalamassery unit in Kerala. The Minister conducted an extensive tour of the plant to evaluate the company's current operations and future prospects.

During his visit, Kumaraswamy also convened a meeting with the unions and other employees of the HMT Kalamassery unit. The discussions revolved around the challenges confronting the unit, potential remedies, and strategies to boost productivity and employee welfare. He assured the workers of his unwavering support and underscored his commitment to the revival and growth of HMT. The Minister highlighted the vital role of HMT in the heavy industries sector and the government's initiatives geared towards fortifying India's industrial base.

Taking to social media platform X, the Union Minister shared, "I visited and inspected The Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) factory in Kalamassery, Kerala. During the visit, I toured various departments to personally observe the factory's operations. Additionally, I discussed with top officials about establishing a production facility aligned with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives."
