Karnataka's political crisis intensified as Chief Minister Siddaramaiah faces prosecution related to the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam. The sanction by Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot sparked protests and allegations of a conspiracy from Congress leaders, who claim the BJP and JD(S) aim to destabilize the state government.

Congress leader KC Venugopal denounced the move as a 'clear conspiracy' to tarnish Siddaramaiah's image and vowed to fight the issue both legally and politically. Venugopal expressed the party's support for Siddaramaiah and criticized the alleged misuse of constitutional powers.

BJP leaders, on the other hand, held protests demanding Siddaramaiah's resignation. Karnataka Assembly Leader of Opposition R Ashok accused the Chief Minister of corruption, labeling the Congress government an 'ATM for the high command.' BJP leader CT Ravi supported the Governor's decision, highlighting corruption allegations and constitutional adherence.

In response, Siddaramaiah filed a writ petition in High Court challenging the Governor's order, calling it legally unsustainable and procedurally flawed. The court is set to hear the plea today, with Justice Hemant Chandangoudar presiding.

Congress leader Ramesh Babu added fuel to the fire by writing to President Droupadi Murmu, seeking her intervention to retract the prosecution sanction. He emphasized that the Governor's sanction threatens democratic and constitutional values.

Protests have erupted as Congress workers rally against the Governor's decision, further escalating tensions. The MUDA scam initially came to light following a complaint from social activist Snehamayi Krishna alleging document forgery by Siddaramaiah and nine others.
