The All India Muslim Personal Law Board firmly opposes the Prime Minister's call for a secular civil code, deeming it unacceptable for Muslims adhering to Sharia Law. 'The Prime Minister's Independence Day call for a Secular Civil Code, labeling religious personal laws as communal, is highly objectionable,' stated the Board in a press release.

Dr. SQR Ilyas, spokesperson for the Board, expressed shock at the announcement, calling it a well-thought-out conspiracy with grave implications. 'Muslims have repeatedly clarified that their family laws are based on Sharia, backed by the Shariat Application Act, 1937, and protected under Article 25 of the Constitution,' he stated, emphasizing the right to practice one's religion.

Criticizing the use of 'secular civil code' over 'uniform civil code,' Dr. Ilyas accused the Prime Minister of misleading the nation. He argued that the Uniform Civil Code is merely a directive, not enforceable by law, and should not override fundamental rights. He called on citizens to reject this proposal, promoting unity and remembrance of India's freedom fighters.
