AIIMS Mangalagiri junior doctors and medical students staged a protest on Saturday, calling for justice in the wake of a tragic rape and murder incident at Kolkata's RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. They expressed their belief that society has failed to adequately address the case.

"We feel that, three days post-incident, we've failed as humans and Indian society. While doctors nationwide stand united against this heinous act, promising progress remains elusive. We won't stop until we achieve justice," a protestor told ANI. A faculty member questioned the safety of workplaces 78 years after independence.

Protesters demanded a secure workplace, especially for women, and called for a Central Protection Act (CPA) for doctors. The incident has sparked national outrage with responses from various sectors, including West Bengal Congress and LGBTQIA+ community protests. The IMA announced a 24-hour service withdrawal in response to the tragedy.
