India's First International Mountain Biking Team Launched by HASTPA in Shimla

HASTPA launched India's first international mountain biking team in Shimla, marking a significant milestone in Indian sports. The Himalayan Adventure Sports and Tourism Promotion Association (HASTPA) has marked a groundbreaking moment in Indian sports by launching the country's first-ever international mountain biking and cycling racing team. The event took place on Saturday in Shimla, and the team will be known as the Scott Racing Team.

Speaking to reporters, HASTPA President Mohit Sood expressed immense pride in the milestone achievement. 'HASTPA is proud to announce the creation of India's first-ever Scott Racing Team, which is a historic moment for Indian cycling,' said Sood. 'This signifies a major step forward in exploring the exciting future of Indian Cycling and MTB.'

The launch not only marks a milestone in India's sports history but also aims to boost the country's presence on the global mountain biking stage. HASTPA has long been a proponent of eco-tourism and sustainable livelihoods in Himachal Pradesh, advocating for cycling activities to achieve these goals.

'We are a registered Society under the Society's Act of 1860, working towards promoting cycling as an activity to develop sustainable livelihoods in Himachal Pradesh,' explained Sood. 'Our contributions include organizing India's premier mountain biking race, MTB Himalaya, for over a decade.'

Sood elaborated on the vision behind the initiative. 'The introduction of an international racing team will further enhance Himachal Pradesh's reputation as a global mountain biking destination,' he said. The project is a collaborative effort with SCOTT Sports, a leader in high-performance cycling products.

'This initiative is in collaboration with SCOTT Sports, renowned for developing high-end performance products across various sports,' Sood explained. 'We cover everything from mountain bikes to electric bikes, ensuring comprehensive cyclists' needs are met.'

With the launch of the Scott Racing Team, HASTPA has set the stage for a new era in Indian sports, promising an exciting journey for cycling enthusiasts nationwide.
