In a significant boost to its agro exports, India has dispatched its first shipment of fig juice to Poland, as announced by the commerce ministry on Saturday.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) played a pivotal role in facilitating the export of the ready-to-drink fig juice, which is made from GI-tagged Purandar Figs. The geographical indication (GI) tag ensures legal protection and promotes the product's export potential.
This milestone underscores the promising prospects of Indian agro-products in the international market, the ministry added.
