PM Modi Unveils 109 Advanced Seed Varieties to Boost Agricultural Yield

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified seed varieties developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR). These seeds, covering 61 agricultural and horticultural crops, aim to enhance productivity and farmers' income. Modi stressed the importance of natural and organic farming during the event.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday released 109 high-yielding, climate-resilient, and biofortified seed varieties developed by the Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR), aiming to bolster farm productivity and increase farmers' income.

Unveiled at Delhi's Pusa Campus, the varieties span 61 crops, including 34 field crops and 27 horticultural crops. Modi interacted with farmers and scientists, emphasizing the significance of adding value in agriculture.

Farmers welcomed the new varieties, citing lower input costs and higher benefits. Modi also highlighted the growing preference for natural and organic foods, urging Krishi Vigyan Kendras to educate farmers monthly about these new developments.
