Rashtriya Rifles and J-K Police Launch Intense Operation in South Kashmir
Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir Police have launched a critical operation in South Kashmir's Kishtwar range following reports of terrorist infiltration. The operation began on August 9-10, targeting militants responsible for recent incidents. Security forces encountered heavy resistance, resulting in injuries to personnel and civilians.

In response to intelligence reports, Rashtriya Rifles and Jammu and Kashmir (J-K) Police initiated a critical operation in the Kapran Garol area of South Kashmir's Kishtwar range, officials announced on Saturday. The operation targets terrorists believed to be behind recent incidents in the Doda region.
A statement from the PRO (Defence), Srinagar, confirmed that on August 5, 2024, both human and electronic intelligence identified terrorists responsible for July 24 atrocities in the Doda region, who had infiltrated into Kapran Garol. From August 9-10, these terrorists were relentlessly tracked, leading to a precise operation in the mountains east of Kapran.
On August 10, around 1400 hours, suspicious movement was observed. The responding security forces faced indiscriminate and reckless firing from the terrorists, resulting in injuries to two Army personnel and two civilians. The operation, complicated by tough terrain above 10,000 feet, continues as security forces hunt down the militants, according to the PRO (Defence).
