The Delhi Police have significantly intensified their crackdown on the illegal sale of Chinese manjha in the national capital, particularly ahead of the upcoming Independence Day celebrations. Numerous raids have been conducted, resulting in multiple arrests.

On Monday, police intervened after receiving a tip-off, seizing a substantial amount of Chinese manjha from a residence in Fayaz Ganj, located in the Azad Market area. One individual, identified as 22-year-old Asjad, was arrested. A case has been lodged against him under various sections of the BNS and the Environment Protection Act.

In a separate incident earlier this week, another individual named Amit Kumar Jain, aged 40, was apprehended in Rohini for the illegal sale of Chinese manjha. Authorities confiscated 45 rolls of the banned material from him. Additionally, last week saw the arrest of a godown owner, Premchand, in Naharpur Market, Rohini, where a huge stockpile of Chinese manjha was discovered. (ANI)
