The Indian Army and Assam Rifles uncovered a significant arms cache during a joint operation in Manipur's Kakching district on Wednesday. Acting on precise intelligence, the joint team launched a search on August 7, seizing an assortment of weapons including an AK Rifle, a 12 bore Single Barrel Rifle, two 9mm Pistols, 11 grenades, ammunition, and other military equipment.

The seized items have been handed over to Manipur Police for further investigation and disposal, according to a Ministry of Defence spokesperson. This follows a similar operation earlier this month, where the Indian Army, in cooperation with the Manipur Police, seized a cache that included two AK-47 rifles, a Sniper rifle, a 9mm Pistol, three Grenades, and other war-like stores in Uyungmakhong, Bishnupur District.

The successful operations underscore the seamless cooperation between the Army and law enforcement agencies, demonstrating their shared commitment to maintaining regional security and stability. The Indian Army remains dedicated to its mission of ensuring peace and safety in the area.
