IIT-Delhi Partners with Honda Cars to Revolutionize AI-Driven Mobility
The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, has signed an MoU with Honda Cars India Limited to advance Honda Cooperative Intelligence (CI). This AI aims for mutual understanding between machines and humans through cooperative action and communication. The collaboration will foster joint research on environment recognition and cooperative behavior, driving innovation in automated driving technologies.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Honda Cars India Limited to push the frontiers of Honda Cooperative Intelligence (CI). This advanced AI is designed to facilitate mutual understanding between machines and humans through environment, scene, and intention recognition.
According to Preeti Ranjan Panda, Dean of Corporate Relations at IIT-Delhi, the mobility industry is undergoing significant changes due to the growing demand for sustainable, AI-powered products. This partnership aims to leverage IIT-Delhi's research capabilities and Honda's practical expertise to unleash innovation, benefitting customers and society.
As part of the collaboration, Honda is currently demonstrating CI-powered micro-mobility vehicles and robots in Joso City, Japan. Joint research themes will include the recognition of surrounding environments and the development of cooperative behaviors, with a special focus on refining driving assistance and automated driving technologies in Delhi's challenging traffic conditions.
