Social media platform X experienced a brief outage on Tuesday night, affecting users in the U.S., Canada, and the UK. The issue was resolved within an hour, with peak outage reports reaching over 36,500. The cause of the outage is still unknown.
Social media platform X was up and running again on Tuesday night after experiencing an outage that lasted less than an hour. The downtime was reported by Downdetector.com, a website that monitors outages through various sources, including user feedback.
According to Downdetector, there were fewer than 500 outage reports in the U.S. at 11:46 p.m. ET, significantly down from a peak of over 36,500 reports at 11:18 p.m. ET. Canada and the UK also saw outage reports fall to under 100, from over 3,300 and 1,600 respectively, as of 11:20 p.m. ET.
The exact cause of the outage remains unclear. Platform X did not offer an immediate comment when Reuters reached out after regular business hours.
