BJP leader NV Subhash demanded on Tuesday that the Telangana government, led by Revanth Reddy, implement the Love Jihad bill in the state. Subhash highlighted that neighboring states have enacted similar measures. He expressed concerns about the influx of illegal Rohingyas and Bangladeshis into Hyderabad, altering the region's demographic profile.
Subhash noted that the Prohibition of Unlawful Religious Conversion Bill implemented in Uttar Pradesh under CM Yogi Adityanath in February 2021 has yielded positive results. He mentioned that an amendment to this bill, proposing stricter punishments, is set to be presented in the UP Assembly. According to Subhash, this legislation is a significant step towards curbing forced conversions and preventing demographic shifts.
In his statements, Subhash claimed that illegal immigrants marry Hindu tribal and SC ST girls, only to abandon them later, leading to suffering for the women. He asserted that the bill addresses attacks on innocent Hindu tribal and SC ST girls, who he says are being targeted by radical Islamists with the goal of disrupting Hindu families and promoting an Islamic agenda. Subhash urged for the replication of the bill across all states to protect Hindu girls and ensure their future safety.
