The body of Shreya Yadav, one of the three students who perished in the Old Rajinder Nagar coaching centre incident, was taken from Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital following a post-mortem on Sunday. The tragedy occurred after the basement of a coaching institute became inundated with water on Saturday evening. Police have identified the victims as Shreya Yadav from Uttar Pradesh's Ambedkar Nagar district, Tanya Soni from Telangana, and Nivin Dalwin from Ernakulam in Kerala.

Family members, including Dharmendra Yadav, a relative of Shreya, are calling for a case of culpable homicide to be filed against the institute's owner. "Only those who have given birth understand the value of life. This needless loss due to mismanagement should lead to serious accountability," said Dharmendra.

Following the tragic event, Delhi police arrested the owner and coordinator of the IAS coaching centre. Delhi Minister Gopal Rai announced on Sunday that the investigation into the deaths has been expedited. "The government's primary concern is swift justice and understanding how such a tragedy could occur," he stated while speaking to ANI. Rai also revealed that the Municipal Corporation of Delhi has ordered immediate action against illegal coaching centres operating in basements.

Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena expressed deep sorrow and labelled the incident as "unfortunate and unacceptable." He remarked on X, "Losing three Civil Services aspirants due to water logging is most unfortunate & unacceptable." Saxena has directed the Divisional Commissioner to complete a comprehensive report by Tuesday.
