China has publicly condemned the United States for what it calls the 'abuse' of export control measures that aim to disrupt the global semiconductor market, according to a statement from the commerce ministry released on Friday.
This criticism comes on the heels of a Bloomberg report suggesting that the US is contemplating even stricter trade rules aimed at curbing China's access to essential semiconductor technologies, which would also impact Japanese and Dutch companies involved in chip manufacturing.
'It is hoped relevant countries will resist U.S. economic coercion,' the ministry added, urging international solidarity against the escalating economic pressures from the United States.
