The administration of the Lingaraj Temple in Bhubaneswar, Odisha, has reacted swiftly following a breach of protocol involving actress Shilpa Shetty. A show-cause notice has been issued to a servitor and an official after photographs and videos of Shetty's visit, where photography is strictly prohibited, circulated online.
Shetty was in Bhubaneswar for an event and made a temple visit in the evening. The unauthorized images have caused outrage among devotees and led temple officials to demand explanations from the involved parties within a week, according to Bhubaneswar Additional District Magistrate Rudra Narayan Mohanty.
Concerns were also raised by local MLA Babu Singh about how cameras or mobile phones were allowed inside, given that even high-profile visits, such as those by the prime minister or president, adhere to the no-photography rule. Calls for stricter enforcement of these policies are gaining momentum.
