Director Vasan Bala appears to have deactivated his X account following a flurry of controversies surrounding his newest film, 'Jigra'.

Featuring Alia Bhatt and Vedang Raina and produced by Dharma Productions, the action thriller struggled both at the box office and with critics since its release on October 11, alongside the comedy 'Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video', starring Rajkummar Rao and Triptii Dimri.

Searching for Bala's X profile under '@Vasan_Bala' yields a 'This account doesn't exist' message. This move comes just a day after he was actively posting and engaging with followers on the platform. 'Jigra' has been mired in controversies even before its theatrical debut. In an earlier interview, Bala expressed discontent over producer Karan Johar's methods of sharing the draft script with Bhatt via email. Johar later criticized what he called the 'gore misinterpretation' of Bala's statements, urging audiences to read full interviews rather than assuming from snippets. Subsequently, Dharma Productions opted to halt pre-release screenings for future films, a decision aimed at preserving audience anticipation. Further controversy arose with plagiarism claims from actor Divya Khosla Kumar, asserting that 'Jigra's jailbreak drama mirrored her film 'Savi'. Additionally, Manipur-based actor Bijou Thaangjam accused the casting team of unprofessional conduct.
