New Zealand clinched a historic eight-wicket victory over India in the first Test in Bengaluru, marking their first win on Indian soil in 36 years. The triumph was fueled by an impressive bowling performance from Matt Henry and William O'Rourke and a notable batting display by left-hander Rachin Ravindra.

Rachin expressed contentment with the pitch, saying it was favorable for batting. He emphasized the importance of clarity in execution and credited his preparation for his success. The Kiwis successfully chased a target of 107, with Will Young and Rachin leading the charge against an Indian team showing resistance through Jasprit Bumrah's efforts.

Earlier, India had established a 106-run lead, courtesy of strong performances by Sarfaraz Khan and others. However, New Zealand effectively leveraged the new ball to dismantle India's middle order, with pivotal contributions from spinners and quicks. Rachin's century had placed New Zealand in a strong position by the end of their first innings, resulting in a crucial lead.
