The Apparel, Made-Ups, and Home Furnishing Sector Skill Council (AMHSSC) is committed to promoting skilled manpower by designing training programmes aligned with industry demands, Sakthivel noted.
''The Make in India initiative has laid a strong foundation for the apparel industry to flourish. Moving forward, the focus will be on innovation, sustainability, and skilling,'' he stated, adding that the initiative has enhanced domestic manufacturing, attracted foreign investment, and improved infrastructure.
Sakthivel also highlighted that India's improved manufacturing infrastructure, reduced regulatory barriers, and favourable trade policies have made it a preferred destination for apparel production, resulting in a surge in exports and enhanced global competitiveness.
